Los Angeles, CA (March 2, 2018) – Media Maven, Koshie Mills is best known as a power broker in Hollywood. Before founding her boutique consulting and public relations firm K3PR, her experience in the entertainment industry came from over a decade of managing the careers of her three successful sons who are actors, tastemakers and young moguls within the television and film industries; Kwame Boateng (The Plug), Kofi Siriboe (Girls Trip, Queen Sugar) Kwesi Boakye (Colony, Claws).
An African woman at the core, Koshie created and executive produced “The Diaspora Dialogues” movement and television series in 2018 to bridge the gap between Africa and its Diaspora. The new platform has helped to start conversations within the diaspora to foster healing and cultural exchange, which led Mills to curate the first-ever International Women of Power Luncheon event in celebration of International Women’s Month.

The International Women of Power Luncheon was hosted by Grammy Award winning artist and actress Michelle Williams. The elegant afternoon featured a breathtaking 360 view of the California coastline, champagne cocktail reception, three-course luncheon and awards presentation at the Marriott, Marina Del Rey on Friday, March 2, 2018 from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM.
Five women were honored for their contributions in Entertainment; Legendary Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph received the coveted ROAR “Sankofa” Award. Uber C.B.O Bozoma Saint John was the Business Excellence “Akofena” Award recipient. Australian Somali Model Duckie Thot was honored with the Goddess Beauty “Duafe” Award, Grammy Award winning artist Estelle was the Music Icon “Nyansapo” honoree and Style Innovator Claire Sulmers received the Fashion Impact “Nsaa” Award. The exclusive event also featured a special live performance by singer, songwriter and actress Estelle.
Presenters included acting brothers Kwame Boateng & Kwesi Boakye, Actress Nicole Ari Parker, Actress Monique Coleman, Actress Wendy Raquel Robinson, Model Ebonee Davis and Mame Adjei. Special VIP guests in attendance included Malinda Williams, Renee Lawless, Skye Marshall, Roland Martin and Isaiah Washington. The event culminated with the Republic Of Ghana Tourism representative Dentaa Amoateng, who presented certificates of Ambassadorships for Ghana’s tourism, arts and culture to Koshie Mills, Kwame Boateng, Kofi Siriboe and Kwesi Boakye. The President of Ghana’s Diaspora Office delegate, Nadia Musah also delivered a message and letter from the office congratulating Koshie Mills for working tirelessly in bridging the gap between Africa and its Diaspora.
About The Diaspora Dialogues
The Diaspora Dialogues is a platform and a movement created by Koshie Mills designed to break down barriers, bridge the gap and provide a voice for Africans in the continent and Africans in the Diaspora. The platform will allow Africans to engage in a series of intimate conversations through television talk show format, events, public forums and discussions with entertainers, Influencers, tastemakers, local heroes and change agents. The Diaspora Dialogues will facilitate cultural exchange while fostering empathy between two seemingly different groups of the same people for the purpose of uniting the global decedents of Africa to sustain future generations.
