The Executive Directors of ASK Ghana, Mawusi Srem Foundation and a Rep. from Waylead, Ms. Kerziah Sharon Adjagrah, Mawusi Srem-Sai and Joseph, respectively took turns to present to representatives of the Unit.

Advocates for SYNERGY & Knowledge sharing Ghana(ASK GHANA) and Mawusi Srem Foundation have organized a donation at the Pediatric Oncology Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital.

To crown the year, The team on December 31, 2021, as part of activities to create awareness on Childhood Cancer presented medical items including sanitisers, compressor nebulizers, examination gloves, oxygen regulator, pulse oximeter, a TV set among other things for use by the unit. This project was sponsored primarily by Waylead Ghana Company Limited and other strong willed individuals.

Given that the diagnosis of childhood cancer and cure is enhanced in high-income countries as opposed to low-income ones, Advocates for Synergy & Knowledge Sharing Ghana and Mawusi Srem Foundation are keen to rally support from stakeholders for the chances of Ghana’s kids being diagnosed promptly and treated.

Delay in diagnosis, inability to obtain accurate diagnosis, inaccessible therapy, abandonment of treatment, death from toxicity (side effects), and avoidable relapse all account for lower survival rates in low-income countries.

While support from the World Child Cancer, Rebecca Foundation, Lions Club and Carmel Antiseptic (Carex Ghana) have been welcomed, the Pediatric Oncology Unit of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital remains in need and require extensive intervention from better cancer treatment options, fund for impoverished parents to tap into for their ward’s treatment and creative things to take off the minds of the kids from the pain they endure.

ASK Ghana and MS Foundation are advocating for Government to set up a National Pediatric Cancer Research and Support Fund to support agencies and other stakeholders with information on the facts of childhood cancers, implementation of childhood cancer treatment on NHIS, Support children with cancer at the Korle-Bu Pediatric Oncology unit and the Child Health Department as a whole.
ASKGHANA was incorporated as a non-profit in May 2019 with the objective to empower women/girls, children and physically challenged to be self-reliant, enhance their livelihood, health and education while promoting self-help within communities.

Mawusi Srem Foundation was formed in 2020 to bring joy, and hope to the less privileged especially children in its locality(North Dayi Constituency) and surrounding communities.

ASK GHANA BELIEVES IN THE DISCOVERY AND EMPOWERMENT OF THE LARGEST UNTAPPED RESERVIOR OF TALENT EVERYWHERE… It facilitates and ensures women/girls, children and physically challenged are empowered, educated, healthy and have the tendency to be mentors and change agents.
