Ghanaian media personality, Kofi Okyere Darko, popularly known as KOD has revealed marriage was never on his mind when he was growing up. However, he met his fashion designer wife, Ophelia Crossland and everything changed.

Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime, KOD stated that growing up, he always enjoyed his freedom, and was not ready to give it up.

“I didn’t ever think I will get married, I like my freedom. My parents were not hard on me, I didn’t have a regimented life, just live your life, as in when you went wrong, they would correct you.

“Forever I wanted to just be in the air and fly like a bird,” he said.

According to KOD, a fashion designer himself, his decision to finally settle down with his wife of so many years was because of how instrumental she was in his life; she had also scored a special place in the heart of his friends and his sisters.

“My sisters were really part of it and my friends, everyone who met Ophelia was like charlie this is your wife.

He continued; “You know that saying, behind every great man there is always that woman, I don’t know if because she is not so tall, but she is right behind me and you can’t see her but she is the one who pulls all the strings, keeps me very grounded,” he added.

KOD and Ophelia have been married for 15 years now. They share two beautiful daughters together.
