Renowned talent manager, George Britton has expressed his desire for Ghanaian rap icon, Sarkodie to have the support of a major record label, emphasizing the potential benefits it could bring to the Ghanaian rap star and the positive impact it could have on Ghana’s image.

During an interview with Prince Benjamin on Class 91.3 FM’s Class Morning Show, the CEO of GB records highlighted the global recognition enjoyed by artists like Burna Boy and wished for similar recognition for Ghanaian talents.

“I wish Sarkodie had a major label backing him.  Yes, Sarkodie is a big artiste,  he’s gone out there and won BETs and all these things but is his name a household name like Burna Boy’s?, ” he questioned.

As a seasoned talent manager with 15 years of experience, Britton stressed the importance of Ghanaian artists collaborating with international record labels to access larger platforms and media outlets worldwide. He urged artists to step out of their comfort zones and engage in conversations with record labels to explore potential opportunities.

The GB records boss emphasized the need for Ghanaian artists to consider the advantages of record label deals in order to enhance their international music presence and capitalize on revenue and music tourism opportunities.

“I want our people to step out of their comfort zones and say, ‘Hey, listen, let’s have a conservation. What will you do for me if I sign on?’” he added.
