In November 2017, Nigerian musician and c0-owner of EME Records, Banky Wellington (W) got married to the love of his life, actress, Adesua Etomi.

The news of their engagement and wedding was the talk of town for weeks and every single celebrity who mattered in their lives showed up to celebrate with them on their big day.

However, one person was missing, and that was Wizkid. Wizkid and Banky W’s relationship prior to the wedding was so tight, hence his absence at the wedding, raised a lot of questions.

Although none of them have publicly stated the reason for his absence at the wedding over the years, Banky W has finally opened up about it in a recent interview with Ebuka on Bounce Radio.

According to Banky W, he was disappointed that Wizkid failed to show up at his wedding, however, he feels Wizkid’s reasons were justified.

“Was I disappointed that he wasn’t at the wedding? I was but I know he tried because there was a show with a lot of the artists…I think it was One Africa,” he said.

He continued;

“As a matter of fact Tiwa ended up…there was business class and she took economy seat so she could make it. But he called at the time that he was so sorry.”

Banky W also revealed that Wizkid, who was signed to his EME label in 2009, failed to fulfil the agreement of his contract before leaving.

According to Banky, Wizkid was signed for 5 years and was supposed to record 5 albums under the label but he only did two.

“I think it was a 5 album deal and he had done 2 solo albums… I think he still owed 3 more albums but he wanted to leave. And for me, that was enough because I don’t want anybody to stay where they want to stay.” he stated.
