Watch: I would have quit music if not for Sarkodie’s Biibi Ba feature – Rapper O’Bkay
Fast-rising Ghanaian rapper, O’Bkay made an appearance on AmeyawTV’s Interview sessions to talk about his music journey.
The MTN Hitmaker season 5 finalist who was featured on Sarkodie’s ‘Biibi Ba’ song disclosed that he nearly gave up on music at some point in time.
According to O’Bkay, he had issues with his former record label in relation to his contract.
“A big label wanted to sign me, I don’t know if it was sabotaged or they didn’t want me to go and the deal didn’t come up again. I didn’t want to be that type of artist who will bring it out there for everybody to know that I am creating controversy and all that so I just decided to be in a warm relationship with them and then part ways” he said.
He stated that the whole misunderstanding with the label got him thinking about quitting music until he got featured on Sarkodie’s Biibi Ba song which exposed him to the music industry.
The ‘Slay king’ rapper also revealed that he’s now signed to a record label based in Nigeria and UK.
O’Bkay will be dropping an afrobeat song dubbed ‘All Day’ featuring Lil Shaker soon.
