When Ghanaian actress, Efia Odo released her introduction to the music scene, “Getting to the bag,” on New Year’s Day, there were varied reactions to the song.

While her fans were excited to see her do something different, there were a cross-section of social media users thought the song was not up to standard, and others who doubted if she even wrote the lyrics to the song herself.

In an interview with Ameyaw TV’s Zeinat Issahaku, the actress has revealed that she did write the song herself and has more where that came from.

“I write everything myself,” she stated while adding ” I do not even think that I’m a good writer. I’m really willing to work with other writers so I can improve in writing myself. I write everything myself.”

Efia stated that while others may think entering a the music scene is just an experiment for her, she’s really serious about it and has written about 15-20 songs so far.

“All 15 or 20 songs I’ve written I wrote myself. Everyday I’m writing, I just wrote an Amanpiano song,” she added.
