I’ll choose foreign passport over PhD and Law degree combined – Wayoosi
Kumawood actor, Joseph Osei, professionally known as Wayoosi has weighed in on the debate regarding the value of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees versus the benefits of acquiring a foreign passport.
The renowned thespian argued that, the two serve entirely different purposes thus should not be compared.
In a video sighted by Ameyaw Debrah Media, Wayoosi expressed his preference for a foreign passport over a PhD, citing the numerous benefits it offers.
He went on to state that, even if a law degree were added to the PhD, he would still choose the foreign passport.
“Enough of this pointless debate, okay? How can you equate a foreign passport with a PhD? Even if you combine a law degree with a PhD, my choice would still be the foreign passport. Don’t overthink this and stress yourself,” he said.

The dispute was sparked by Kofi Gabs, a Ghanaian residing and employed as a janitor in the Netherlands. Kofi Gabs, also known as Mr. Happiness, recently obtained his Dutch passport, which he claimed made the process of traveling much easier when he planned to visit a friend in the United States.
As a result, Kofi Gabs argues that a Dutch passport holds more advantages than a PhD from Ghana, asserting that even a PhD holder would face difficulties in processing their travel documents with a Ghanaian passport.
His statement highlights that a PhD holder in Ghana, without a foreign passport, would encounter challenges in obtaining travel documents for international travel, unlike someone with a Dutch passport. Kofi Gabs believes that the Dutch passport holds greater value than a PhD from the University of Ghana.
On the other hand, Wayoosi believes that comparing a PhD to a foreign passport is unnecessary, as they serve distinct and separate purposes. He asserts that if given the choice, he would unequivocally opt for a foreign passport, even if it included a law certificate.
