It’s an error not to include me in anything related to Ghana music today – Stonebwoy
Ghanaian Afro Dancehall star Stonebwoy has reiterated his criticism of the Grammys for a publication on its website that listed 10 essential artists in the evolution of Ghanaian Hiplife, but omitted his name.
He asserts that excluding him from such a list is an oversight, given his contributions to the genre. Stonebwoy highlighted other key figures in Hiplife, such as Prince Bright, BukBak, Okyeame Kwame, and Praye, etc arguing that their absence from the list is a disservice to Ghanaian music.

Stonebwoy, responding to Pop Culture Journalist Olele Salvador, stressed that the exclusion of these influential artists is a serious oversight and does a disservice to Ghanaian music.
@OleleSalvador You should have just mentioned me in that your submission so that we will have a discerning conversation.
Cz the article is factually half dozed and it’s not an opinion because Honorable mentions without @PrinceBright_NY (bukbak) @VVipGhana @iamobrafour @kwawkese…— 1GAD (@stonebwoy) August 23, 2024
The Grammys’ article discusses Ghana’s significant contribution to the global music landscape, particularly through the Hiplife genre, which fuses hip-hop with traditional Ghanaian sounds. It highlights the role of pioneering artists and producers in shaping Hiplife, as well as its evolution into subgenres like azonto and asakaa.
While some fans back Stonebwoy’s critique, others believe his reaction was unwarranted.
