It's difficult trying to feature 'top artists' in Ghana- singer Lamisi
It’s difficult trying to feature ‘top artists’ in Ghana- singer Lamisi[/caption] Ghanaian songstress Lamisi, says collaborating with top Ghanaian musicians is tough. Speaking in an interview on AmeyawTV, the singer disclosed that upcoming musicians go through hell when trying to get a top artist for a feature. “No..It’s really difficult trying to feature artist in Ghana, especially if you are a up and coming artist, like a budding artist. it is really difficult” she said, when asked if there would be any featured artist on her upcoming project. According to Lamisi, she approached two of the “Top 5” Ghanaian artist for a feature, but she wasn’t taken seriously. hence, she decided to work on a solo album. “Think of the top 5 artist in Ghana, and then i approached two of them, the back and forth was just so much. i held on for about 6 months and nothing was happening so i just thought let me work on my own thing” Lamisi further revealed that though she believes in features, she is currently not interested in featuring any artist on her upcoming album because she is now focusing on a different direction. “now too the focus and the direction have change. what i am doing now is quite unique and a little bit different so, and then i don’t see how they will fit in it now, but before yes, i was much more interested but with the direction in which i am going, i think beyond all those features of everybody” Lamisi who sings in her local dialect “kusala” said her yet to be release album is a mixture of any kind of music which everybody will easily relate to.
