I’ve been an independent artist for 10 years- Efya

Ghanaian singer, Efya has revealed that she’s been doing music independently, without a label for the past 10 years.

According to the multiple award-winning singer, she stayed off signing on to labels because she wanted a good deal for herself.

“…I’m fighting a good fight. I’ve been an independent artist for 10 years. I never got signed to a label because it want the best deal for myself,” she said in an interview with Kwame Bee on Kasapa FM.

Efya however, adds that her music catalogue is the best now, and she thinks she’ll get the most value for it should she sign to a label.

“Now, my catalogue is very tight, so at this point I will get the best value for my catalogue,” she added.

The “Best in Me” hitmaker added that they were making the right decisions for the next generation.

”But for the ones coming, we want to make it that they won’t go through the same thing that we went through. God put us here for a purpose. I pray that as we move forward, there will be more support,” she added.

Efya is currently promoting her new single “Super, Super” which is out now on all streaming platforms.
