Ghanaian star actress, Jackie Appiah has expressed her appreciation for her nomination for Best Actress in the maiden edition of AfricaMagic Viewers Choice Award. She said, “I’m really happy and honoured. I’m so excited about it. I’m happy that all the efforts I put into the movie is paying off.”
Jackie Appiah was nominated for Best Actress (Drama) for her role in ‘Perfect Picture’ alongside other top African stars including Bubu Mazibuko, Genevieve Nnaji, Nolwazi Shange and Funke Akindele. In 2010, Jackie won the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actress with the same movie and she is hopeful that it would do the magic again. “I hope I win, it’s a tough category because all the actresses in the category are good, the few that I know are all good actresses individually.”
She also commended M-net Africa for coming up with the AfricaMagic Viewers Choice Awards and added that such awards will encourage her, other actors and producers to work harder and give off their best.
