John Dumelo picks form and starts campaign for Ayawaso West Wuogon NDC primaries

Ghanaian actor John Dumelo has started his campaign to get elected as the National Democratic Congress’ parliamentary candidate for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency in the Greater Accra region. Dumelo picked up nomination forms to contest in the NDC primaries at Ayawaso West earlier in the week and would be undergoing a vetting to qualify for the contest.
But even before the vetting, Dumelo has released his campaign poster and started campaigning on social media.

Sharing a photo of his poster in his latest post on social media, the actor urged his constituents to support him on his journey to bring change.
“It’s time for Ayawaso West Wuogon….it’s time to listen and serve the interest of the people. It’s time for change….I John Dumelo, humbly ask you to support me on this journey. God bless you and God bless Ghana. Please follow the official campaign page for daily updates. @dumelo42020,” Dumelo wrote on social media.

Dumelo will compete with Ms Suzzy Afua Adoboe in the primary after Mr Delali Kwesi Brempong, who had represented the party in three parliamentary elections, failed to pick a form leaving Dumelo and Adoboe as the only candidates.

If successful in the NDC primary, Dumelo will likely be facing the incumbent, New Patriotic Party’s Lydia Alhassan who won a by-election in January 2019, after the passing of her husband, Emmanuel Agyarko Kyeremateng.
