Joseph Arning makes top 10 finalist for YouTube original series, Instant Influencer
Joseph Arning is a Ghanaian-American multimedia artist and Influencer makes top 10 finalist for YouTube original series, Instant Influencer, season two!
He was born in Germany and raised in Ghana, Kenya, and the United States. His mother is a United States Army Veteran who exposed him to a variety of cultures at a young age.
Joseph uploaded his first video to the platform YouTube at the age of eight, which was brand new at the time. By 11 years old he would then go on to experiment with stop motion animation and create short videos with his friends.
Throughout high school, he would make short videos documenting his life and hobbies on Instagram and YouTube. He used a social media as a way to connect with people during the loneliest times of his life. Joseph uses his art as a way to share his experiences and connect with people from all around the world. He believes that his art and videos are a medium to bring people together and connect through shared experiences.
In March of 2020 during the COVID-19 lockdown, he spent most of his time uploading videos of his art process to the platform TikTok. These videos were extremely successful and received 100 million views by the end of the year. By January of 2021, he gained over 300,000 followers and counting.
In April 2021 he uploaded his audition video for the YouTube original series Instant Influencer and was chosen as one of the 10 finalists. The show premieres on October 27 and artists from all over the United States will be competing for a chance to win the grand prize of $100,000.
Joseph Arning is a senior at Rutgers University where he is completing his degree in Health Administration, Digital Communication, Information, and Media. He continues to pursue his education while maintaining his platform of over half a million followers.
