Joycelyn and Chris win Project Walkway Ghana 2012

The maiden edition of Project Walkway Ghana came to an end with an exciting finale at the MJ Grand hotel in Accra. The grand finale saw contesting models walk down the runway in garments designed by the 5 talented contesting designers.  Joycelyn of Mislyn Kreations emerged as the best designer of the competition with funky prêt-à-porter collection. Joycelyn remarked:  “I was in the competition to meet, interact and learn. Winning the competition is a plus for me. I haven’t  regretted quitting  my secretarial work because this event shows that I am doing something right and I am ready to take it to the next level. Watch out for me” . Meanwhile model, Chris Abhulimhen won the modelling category of the search. The winning designer will be set up professionally and introduced to established brands like Sandi Mabasa from South Africa, Kofi Ansah, Joyce Ababio, Ivana Annan all from Ghana, MUDi clothing from Nigeria just to mention a few. The winning model will be flown outside Ghana to other African countries to work as a professional model. The night was not only for discovering new talents, some established designers also showcased their collections among them were Sa4a Designs, Konfidence label, Peroni designs, Harmattan clothing and others. There was also performances from Stars of The Future winner, Bertha now known as YaaYaa.  The three judges for the night were Makeba Boateng, fashion PR and consultant; 2008 Face Of Africa winner and model, Kate Menson, and fashion consultant Chadi. ]]>
