Kennedy Agyapong presents cash Nana Kwame Ampadu, C.K Mann, Obouba J.A Adofo, A.B Crentsil & Jewel Ackah

AMWEF SHOTHonourable Kennedy Agyapong, MP for Assin Central says he counts it as a blessing to be able to support the ageing musicians of our time to ease their plight. The MP made the statement when he presented a total of GHC 5,000.00 to five musicians who were honoured by the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) at the recent Presidential Grand Ball held at the State House Banquet Hall. The presentation is in fulfilment of a promise the MP for Assin Central made at the gala event to the five who are Nana Kwame Ampadu, C.K Mann, Obouba J.A Adofo, A.B Crentsil and Jewel Ackah. The presentation of cash took place on Tuesday, January 16 at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra. The MUSIGA President, Bice Osei Kuffuor aka Obuor gave a brief background on the Ageing Musician Welfare Fund (AMWeF), how it came about, the policies governing the fund and the plans laid down to grow the fund. He expressed his gratitude for the hard work and the support of team towards the Endowment fund for the ageing musicians. Speaking on behalf of the beneficiaries, Nana Kwame Ampadu expressed their excitement for what Kennedy Agyapong has done for them and prayed for exceeding blessings to replenishe his stock. Ampadu also commended the MUSIGA President Obuor and applauded the establishment of the Grand Ball event which seeks to raise funds for the support of the Ageing Musicians’ Welfare Fund every year. Nana Ampadu also commended the Grand Ball Board for the marvellous work they did resulting in the successful gala and raising funds for AMWeF. The MUSIGA Grand Ball is an annual fund raising event organized by the Union that brings together leaders of society and captains of industry in Ghana.  ]]>

The premiere of the most anticipated Ghanaian crime action thriller; The Agency, postponed to December 2

We wish to officially announce that Ghana’s most anticipated crime action thriller, The Agency, initially scheduled to premiere on October 1, 2022, has been postponed to December 2, 2022.

This difficult decision became necessary due to some challenges, including a planned renovation by Silverbird Cinemas, commencing two days after the premiere of The Agency movie and lasting about a week. Meaning that subsequent showings of The Agency in the cinema would have to be suspended for the entire duration of the renovation. From a business perspective, this is not prudent as a break in screening would water down the impact we anticipate audience reviews after the premiere will make, while potentially affecting revenue as well. Hence, the need to postpone to a more suitable date.

In considering suitable dates, we had to ensure that the new date was not set too close to or on the same day as any major local or international event and or movie releases. This is also important because it can adversely affect our premiere. After extensive consultations and careful consideration, it became clear that The Agency should premiere in December.

Coincidentally, the National Film Authority called on Cine-God Studios to discuss the Ghana Cinema Week slated for December 2022. The ten (10) day event seeks to revive the Ghanaian cinema culture by encouraging Ghanaians to watch Ghanaian films at various venues across the country. By supporting and participating in this initiative, we get a golden opportunity to access more screens; which means we get to bring the The Agency movie closer to more film lovers across Ghana faster than we initially scheduled.

In all, we believe that this postponement provides an opportunity for us to entertain film lovers without compromising on returns for our investor; a win-win situation.

The Agency is a crime-action thriller movie which tells the story of a very powerful government security agency, which was formed to handle the government’s top-secret operations but which gets corrupted under the leadership of a highly connected female government appointee who uses the agency for back-door business dealings, hence, causing the emergence of a group of highly skilled individuals to embark on a self-sanctioned perilous mission to end the corruption and abuse. It was Executive produced by Amin Ramart and directed by Abu Iddris.

We therefore take the opportunity to apologize for any inconveniences caused and encourage the public to turn out in their numbers on December 2, 2022 for the premiere at Silverbird Cinemas (Accra Mall and West Hills mall) and subsequent showings at venues near them.
