Kwesi Nyantakyi’s first wife ‘pleads and begs’ Ghanaians to stop insulting her husband, believes he was under a spell.

Christine-Marie, the first wife of disgraced former Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi, is struggling to understand why people continue to insult and chastise her husband.

The mother of two appeared on Metro TV’s ‘Good Evening Ghana’ on Tuesday to express support for her better half who has been handed a life ban from all football activities and a hefty fine by FIFA for breaking its code of ethics.

Taking the opportunity to express her concerns about recent development around her husband, Mrs. Nyantakyi stated

”the name-calling, the insults, the jubilation and the celebrations that he’s down, I am begging and pleading that we should all hold our horses and wait.”

”My pain is that Ghanaians should exercise patience. Kwesi is not running away; he’s here. If the court or if the processes find Kwesi guilty, he’s available to face the consequences,”

She also revealed that her husband paid $100, 000 in a desperate bid to stop the public screening of the Number 12 documentary by Anas Aremeyaw Anas but the money was returned after the documentary was aired.

During the interview, Mrs. Nyantakyi disclosed that she had not gathered the courage to watch the full expose but believes from the snippet she has seen, her husband was “under some kind of spell”.
