The La-Palm Royal Beach Hotel is set host a week-long Italian fiesta to highlight the world acclaimed culinary customs and cultures of Italy from September 10-16. The food and cultural festival promises to be a delightful treat for taste buds and a splendid spectacle for all.
The festival which is organized in association with the Italian Embassy will heat up Accra with food, arts and entertainment and according to the management of La-Palm Hotel; it would provide a feeling of being at an authentic Italian neighbourhood street festival in ‘Little Italy’ without leaving Accra. Although the festival would feature the cultures of Italy in general, there would be special focus on cuisine from the Basilicata region of Italy in particular.
The celebrations will kick-start with a grand opening at the Adae Kesse Hall of the La-Palm Royal Beach Hotel on September 10 at 6.30pm. It will feature live band performances from The Italian Folklore Group, the Ghana Dance Ensemble, an array of Italian and Ghanaian dishes and a photo exhibition of famous tourist sites in Italy and Ghana. To crown it all, raffle tickets would be available with attractive prizes which include spending savouring moments at any of the Golden Beach Hotels.
The Damba 3 Hall will subsequently host the festival from September 11-16 at 6.30pm each night with a variety of Italian and Ghanaian cuisine, an ensemble of Italian and Ghanaian dancers and a range of interesting activities while raising fund for worthy causes.
The Italian Food and Cultural Festival, which is the Hotel’s first in a planned series of cultural and food traditions of selected countries, will expose the Ghanaian public and other nationals in Accra to Italian culinary arts; promote cultural exchange, networking, ethnic sensitivity and diversity. It would also help raise awareness and give the opportunity for the general public to contribute to charity organizations.
