Leila Djansi finally sells out in Ghana with ‘Ties That Bind’

Perhaps a ripple effect from sweeping the Ghana Movie Awards held on December 25, Leila, who has previously produced several critically acclaimed and award-winning movies but never managed to sell out any of her premieres, exorcized her demons and packed the National Theatre auditorium with two showings of ‘Ties That Bind’.  The first showing filled the auditorium and some patrons with tickets had to either stand and watch the movie or wait for the second showing.

The premiere was attended by the cast and crew and special guests including former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings and the Australian High Commissioner. Two of the three leading ladies, Ama K Abebrese and Omotola Jolade-Ekeinde were in attendance looking ravishing and excited about the movie. A stunning Omotola, dressed in a dark-brown gown adorned with a ruby laced neckline, arrived at the National Theatre nearing the end of the first showing for ‘Ties That Bind’, and she did it in style. And Ama K wore an overbust gown by KNAF Couture adorned style necklace made of bends and a pendant of the African map. Also in attendance were movie, music and sports stars such as John Paintsil, Nadia Buari, Majid Michel, John Dumelo (who also starred in the movie), Buk Bak, Menaye Donkor Muntari, Desmond Elliot and others. ‘Ties That Bind’ is now showing at the Silverbird cinemas and will soon premiere in other regions. The Kumasi premiere took place at the Golden Tulip Hotel, Kumasi City simultaneously with the Accra premiere and was also over-subscribed! ties that bind premiere 3ties that bind premiere 4ties that bind premiere 5ties that bind premiere 6ties that bind premiere 8ties that bind premiere 2]]>
