Lifestyle: Would you bet your money on R2bees to carry 2013
I have always wondered how gambling works in especially in Ghana . I know there are a few casinos in Ghana I have seen the games in a few of them. But I wonder more if those who gamble in Ghana also gamble on the outcome of entertainment and sporting activities in Ghana as well. I remember watching SuperSport some years back and seeing a commercial from Ladbrookes on how certain African countries could bet on the English Premier Leagues games, and Ghana was included. I think other betting platforms like partycasino.com also provide betting opportunities for us online. I want to know whether if there was a bet on who would win artist of the Year at the 2013 Ghana Music Awards, you would be bold enough to take part. Would you bet on R2bees? Remember they have songs like ‘Life (Walayi)’, ‘Bayla Trap’ and my favourite, ‘Odo’ making waves all over. Asem had my favourite song of the year with ‘Bye Bye’ featuring Kwabena Kwabena’ but will Sarkodie be in contention and if so, will he grab the award for a third time? Apart from winning the BET Award for Best African act in 2012, he was also the only African act to be featured on the BET Hip Hop Awards Cypher alongside several top American rappers. 2012 also saw Sarkodie being crowned Ghana Music Award artist of the year for a second time; he performed with Ludacris on the remix of ‘How Low Can You Go’, and released singles from his joint collaboration album with Jayso. Apart from performing across the globe, he staged the second edition of his ‘Rapperholic Concert’ on Christmas day, pulling a good crowd. Sarkodie also became a brand ambassador for Samsung, launching his own brand of headphones. He ended the year on a high with his inclusion in Forbe’s list of 13 African stars to watch out for in 2013. Let’s wait and see if it would be third time lucky for the rapper in 2013 as he readies his third album, ‘Sarkology’. Hmm, it looks like a tough contest…who would you bet your money on? ]]>
