After making the headlines with his iconic first ever African action thriller music video for ’16 Bars’, south African emcee, Motso is back with a brand new single titled ‘Lowchy’s Way’ (Feat Lowchy). It is a tribal-house fusion with hip-hop comes out as an unusual sound to Africa yet very engaging to listen to.
‘Lowchy’s Way’ is taken from the forthcoming project of Motso, which promises to explore more creative easy to mix the various musical sounds from across the African continent. He comments:
“Basically the morale behind the song and the whole project is bringing a different style and feel to African hiphop. If you look at most of the African hiphop artists one cannot tell the difference when coming to sound and uniqueness. How are we supposed to be globally recognized when we are doing exactly the same thing as Americans? Yes the hiphop language is the same but the sounds and feel can be tempered with a little, just for one to stand and sound a bit unique.”
He adds, “Lastly the song is inspired by the different sounds that Africa has, the whole project will consist of every musical element that Africa entails but still with a strong hiphop foundation. My point with the project is to let people realize that I am an artist not just a rapper.”

Motso was born in Mafikeng in the North West of South Africa. He started his music career as a Motswako artist but has grown to fuse his Setswana into English rap remarkably well. In 2012 He released an album titled ‘From Nothing To Something’ with his first single being ‘Ngwanyana Wa Motswana’(The Motswana Girl). Soon after that, he wrote the song ‘Watchu Gonna Do’ which was a reply to HHP’s ‘Wam Tseba Mtho’. The beef song gave birth to the action thriller 16bars which was even played and compared to the likes of Kanye West on Trace TV.]]>
