The “God MC” rapper, who grew up in Madina, shared a TikTok video showing some of the streets in Madina which had been renamed after foreign cities.

“Charley the streets I grew up on in Madina is now Tennessee Street. The next street is also called Oklahoma Street and the next street is also called Connecticut Street, this is Madina, not America and the street is also Arkansas. For good measure they just added Bavaria,” M.anifest is heard saying in the video.

The street and property naming, along with the digital address system, is a nationwide exercise being done in phases, even though Accra has dominated the phase one.

The exercise is being carried out by the Land Use and Spatial Planning Authority (LUSPA) formerly Department of Town and Country Planning in collaboration with the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) and traditional authorities.
