m.anifestGhana’s M.anifest, who was Africa’s only finalist in the  2017 Midem Artist Accelerator, ended his fantastic experience at the music festival in Cannes, France, by picking up an award in addition to his sparkling performance. M.anifest, one of 11 Midem Artist Accelerator finalists, won an online vote pre-Midem and as such, an International Midem Award. The rapper shared the news on social media saying: “Good with the words but I suck at speeches…sometimes. Thanks to the jury and the people dem for this midem award.” Midem’s 11 Music Artist Accelerator finalists performed on Day 1 of the festival, while renowned Haitian rapper and producer, Wyclef Jean, joined them with a wild and energetic performance on Day 2. The Midem Artist Accelerator is an exclusive programme for artists and their entourages. It is designed to support managers, agents, labels and publishers as they look to grow their artists’ profiles globally, as an opportunity to promote 11 International talents selected by an Artistic Committee. The Midem Artist Accelerator 360 programme features a range of curated networking opportunities, as well as learning and coaching sessions with leaders of the international music industry. The 2017 VGMA best rapper award winner unanimously had the nod following two fiercely contested phases of balloting; Panel selection and public voting. The finalists had the opportunity to play a live set at Midem and would have their song featured on Midem’s communication outlets.  ]]>
