The Kente Business Journal – KBJ, a multinational media and production company based in Seattle Washington, USA and Accra, Ghana, has officially launched Miss Natural Beauty Ghana 2023 in Accra.

Miss Natural Beauty Africa LLC owns Miss Natural Beauty Ghana. This is an extraordinary beauty contest that specifically aims at projecting the natural beauty of the African woman.

“Beauty” has often been subjected to certain standards created by the “world order”, one that is intolerant of the authentic nature of the African appearance. Thus Miss Natural Beauty aims to showcase the diversity of Africa’s true beauty, free of foreign materials and influence.

This pageant will be the platform that challenges the Ghanaian and African woman to be themselves in all honesty and own their true beauty. The theme for this year’s edition is “Embracing Your True Worth”.

Documented historical evidence has shown a constant decline in the self-esteem of us Africans and that includes the way we looked. It is common knowledge that most Africans considered themselves inferior to other races in all aspects. This propelled us to go to great lengths to embrace and attain the international standards of beauty, in order to feel appreciated and accepted.

For this reason, we the organizers of this pageant see the need to create a platform that will encourage the African woman (starting with the Ghanaian woman) to accept herself just as she is. Miss Natural Beauty will not only be showcasing authentic Ghanaian beauty but will attempt to start rebuilding the lost confidence that our beautiful women possessed some centuries ago.

This pageant is the first of its kind to solely incorporate natural grooming and thus present models devoid of unnatural products and influence. We, the organizers, expect challenges and are ready to learn from all that may confront the production of this event.
Miss Natural Beauty Ghana is the first of its kind to project the authenticity of true undiluted African beauty.

A summary of our criteria structure document is that;
● We are 1st looking for assertive, self-motivated young ladies who believe in natural beauty.
● Further qualifications include the age range. One must be between 18 to 35 years old.
● A contestant must not be pregnant at the time of participation.
● One must have “unpermed” natural hair.
● One must be at least a senior high school graduate.
● One must be at least 5 feet, 5 inches tall.
● All other requirements can be accessed on our official website at info@missnaturalbeautyafrica.com .

Aside from the requirements for contestants, Miss Natural Beauty will take place within a span of 2 months, including four weeks of scoring events and the finale where an eventual winner is crowned.

Other events and sponsored activities will be communicated in due time.

HOW RELEVANT IS MISS NATURAL BEAUTY TO THE LOCAL ECONOMY?

Miss Natural Beauty Ghana will be solely working with entrepreneurs and businesses that are in the natural beauty industry. Oftentimes, the mainstream media does not give much attention and exposure to local natural body care companies especially those that are startups.

With our platform, we not only seek to engage with the services and products of such companies and entrepreneurs but will also create a vendor booth for as many of such businesses that are interested in showcasing their products and services. The aim is to draw the general public’s attention to the industry that is steadily growing alongside the budding self-actualization and consciousness of the Ghanaian and African woman.

This industry, when much attention is paid to, has the potential to be part of the solution to the various challenges that the Ghanaian economy faces.
