On Wednesday (May 3), the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame revealed the inductees for its class of 2023 with Missy Elliott being one of those receiving the lifetime honor.

The Virginia Beach hip-hop legend will be inducted during a ceremony held in Brooklyn on November 3 alongside the likes of Rage Against the Machine, Willie Nelson, Kate Bush, George Michael, Sheryl Crow, and The Spinners.

Additionally, Chaka Khan, Bernie Taupin and Al Kooper will be honored with the Rock Hall’s Musical Excellence Award, while DJ Kool Herc and Link Wray will receive the Music Influence Award. The late creator and host of Soul Train Don Cornelius is this year’s recipient of the Ahmet Ertegun Award, which honors non-performing industry professionals.

Rock HOF inductees are determined by an international voting body of more than 1,000 artists, historians, and members of the music industry. All eligible nominees must have had their first musical recording released at least 25 years ago.
