Multichoice Ghana has presented a cheque of GHC3, 000 to the Ghana Journalists Association to sponsor the Best Journalist of the year for Education for 2011. The presentation was made by the General Manager for Multichoice Ghana, Cecil Sunkwa Mills.
The 2011 Awards, which will be the 16th, will be held on August 20 and will coincide with the 62nd anniversary of the Ghana Journalist Association with the theme: “Giving Impetus to Democracy and Development in Africa: The Role of Investigative Journalism”.
This sponsorship is in line with MultiChoice Ghana’s commitment to building a sustainable business as well as to investing in corporate social investment projects which contribute to the growth and development of the continent. The key focus is on education and the uplifting of the communities in which MultiChoice does business. To this end, MultiChoice Ghana has established 35 resource centres across Ghana. These school Resource Centres are set up in partnership with government to help improve the quality of educational resources by using technology and rich education channels from DStv.
