According to Ghanaian singer Sister Derby, her music career has not provided her with the same level of wealth as brand-influencing jobs on social media.

The model and music video vixen revealed to AmeyawTV’s JQ that, while she enjoys making music, it does not pay her as well as she would have hoped.

In response to a question about the job that pays the most, the ‘UNCLE OBAMA’ hitmaker stated:

“I get perks from brand-influencing. Free products which is not really free because I have to promote them, I get endorsement deals and that’s how I pay the bills. But all these come from music indirectly because making music, and producing music videos keep me relevant, give me visibility, give me numbers, and gives me popularity and in return I gave endorsement and influencer deals which pay better than the music for me.”

Music doesn’t bring a lot of mulla (money) for me, but it brings it indirectly.” she added.

Sister Deborah started her music career in 2012 when she released her international hit single ‘UNCLE OBAMA’. In 2020, she released her long-awaited EP titled “The African Mermaid.”

The 7-track multi-genre masterpiece featured top Ghanaian artists such as Efya, Yaa Pono, Kofi Mole, Strongman, Eno Barony, and others, as well as production from JeriBeatz, Kuvie, NxWrth, and others.
