Telecoms company, Tigo took over the Achimota Retail Center on Saturday with its Blue Light District event. The event created a hangout for customers and potential customers to experience the Tigo brand and its newly improved reliable high-speed Internet, through exciting activities The public had to buy at least GHS2 credit to gain access to the free WIFI code The fun activities at the Tigo Blue District included Digital photo booth – where people could take 3 pics with props and get them printed out automatically. There was also the Goods market where people could by items from Kandy’s Smoothies, Nallem Clothing, Wild Cherry, Bata Shoes, MV Accessories, and Slay Cosmetics. Games on the day included table tennis and mini football. The FIFA 2017 tournament saw online registration for 64 gamers, and there were 8 game stations and 1 champion. Frank Adotey Kpakpo, also known as ‘WonderKid’ won the competition and was awarded GHS2,500. Yaw Boakye Amponsah, first runner up received GHS1,500. While third and fourth positions, Emmanuel Lawson Kenneth Robinson Larbi received – GHS700 and GHS300, respectively.
