Wan-O, the name which is an acronym that stands for one and only depicting the uniqueness he stands for, is a hip-hop artiste from the royal family of Cape Coast. A region situated at the west side of Africa, Ghana.
William ‘Wan-O’ Ansah was born on 31st October 1985 the second of three children. His father was a Reverend Minister (deceased) and his mother runs an export company. He is a graduate in human resource management from one of the top private universities in Ghana.
Wan-O discovered his musical ability as early as age 6 when he started putting words together and free-styling. His first record deal was offered to him when he was 12, when he was discovered by a young CEO after he free-styled for a school play. The deal went cold after a heated misunderstanding.
In order to get his music out to the rest of the world and be able to support his own growing career, Wan-O made an E.P with songs he was promoting at that moment in time and sold it to consumers by himself. Within a six month period, he had been able to sell 3000 plus copies which in turn built him a strong fan base and got him enough money to support his music.
Wan-O’s versatility, deep concepts, witty flow and catchy style has gained the young artiste worldwide recognition and earned him collaborations with some top names in the game.
