Must Have Things in Your Bag When Traveling to a Pacific Island

Published

on

When heading on vacation to the Pacific Islands, it is essential to pack the right gear in order to be able to enjoy your holiday without a care in the world. So, before you start packing for your trip to heaven, here are a few items you need to double-check a million times before you hit the road:

Sunglasses

You can’t be heading to an Island without your favorite pair of shades. With www.sharkeyes.com constantly displaying the latest fashion trends, you’ll be able to get an idea of the latest sunglasses in the market. Whether it’s round, cat-eyed, or even neon sunglasses, the trends are constantly changing, and it’s time to show off those shades on your vay-cay.

Sunscreen

If you’ve ever come across Baz Luhrmann’s hit song “Everyone’s Free to Wear Sunscreen” you’ll know just how important it is. He even starts his graduation speech and advice with the following lyrics: “Wear Sunscreen. If I could offer you only one tip for the future, Sunscreen would be it.” If that doesn’t make you add that sunscreen to your luggage right this instant, then maybe this will. Sunscreen doesn’t just protect your skin from sunburn, but it also protects it from developing skin cancer. So, before you read the rest of this list, be sure to pack that sunscreen first.

Waterproof Bluetooth speakers

What fun is a vacation without music? You can be relaxing on the beach or having a house party, and still, you’ll be glad you brought your speakers along. Like Madonna used to say “Music makes the people come together.” So, bring along those speakers, preferably the waterproof ones so they can be used on the beach without fear of getting wet, and get the party started. Dance to the rhythm and invite people to your mini party that you’ve created just because you have sick music taste that everyone will love.

Wet weather gear

Fingers crossed that the weather will be great for your vacation, but given how moody it is in the pacific islands, it’s best to always be prepared just in case. Pack a light coat that you can even just wrap over your bathing suit if need be and an umbrella to be on the safe side. It is best to check the weather forecast a week in advance to make sure it won’t rain, but there’s no harm in bringing along some wet weather gear just in case luck isn’t on your side.

Entertainment

Whether it’s a deck of cards, a book, or a sketchpad, it is always a great idea to have a form of entertainment that you can use while relaxing by the pool or beach. There are times when you’d just like to chill, relax and immerse in a parallel, fictional universe of someone’s imagination, especially when you’re taking a break from your real world. Other times, you’ll find inspiration has hit you, and the need to doodle or create an artwork will strike, and if you just want to spend some time with your friends engaging in an activity besides swimming, dancing and partying, a game can always lighten up the mood and keep everyone entertained.

First aid kit

It’s always best to be prepared for any injuries or mishaps that may occur without having to frantically look for an open pharmacy. If you or one of your friends has a minor accident and hurts themselves by scraping their knees or getting a paper cut or so, it is best to have some sort of plaster, bandage, and disinfectant to clean the wound without having to go to the emergency room just for a slight injury. It is also advisable to have painkillers and medication for headaches, colds, or cases of flu that you can take as you might not be able to get over the counter medication, or even worse, might not find a pharmacy available when needed. That’s why having a first aid kit can be a lifesaver, even if it saves you from having your vacation ruined over an annoying headache. If you tend to suffer from any allergies or medical issues, it is also best to bring along your own medication as you do not know what will be available.

Reef shoes

With the water known to be pebbly and full of stones, it is best to have reef shoes that protect your feet from getting hurt when stepping on the rocks. They can also be used for swimming and do not have to be taken off, allowing you to always be ready for any surface you may encounter. They do not affect your swimming and can even be great for walking in the sand, too.

Insect Repellent

Unless you want to be bitten by mosquitoes or have a creepy-crawly raid, this item is about to become your absolute best friend. It not only saves you from itchy bites, but also from the allergies that you can get along with it. There are many natural insect repellents available that do not have as many chemicals that are harmful to your skin. So, don’t forget to add that to your list, or you won’t be able to sleep.

Day bag

If you’re planning on going on day trips, it is always advisable to have a backpack or beach bag where you can have all the necessary items you need for the day. Don’t forget to seal your phone in a waterproof zipper if you’ll be getting on a boat. And always have a torch if you’ll be going on excursions.

A vacation can be ruined just because you’ve forgotten some essential items, so be sure to check this list before you take that trip. Many of these items tend to be overlooked or forgotten, but without them, you can really find yourself putting in a difficult situation. So, in order to guarantee that you have an enjoyable trip with the least possible mishaps, make sure that you include all of the above items while packing, and don’t forget to bring your beach items, too.
