My Song “It Is Possible” Isn’t Political, But I’d Let NPP Use It if They Want – Philipa Baafi
Well-known Ghanaian gospel musician Philipa Baafi has clarified that her new song titled ‘It Is Possible’ is not affiliated with any political party, although she expressed willingness to offer it to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) if they showed interest.
Speaking in an interview on Accra-based Adom FM, the singer, known for her soulful and inspiring music, disclosed that she is a sympathizer of the NPP and stated that she sees no issue with openly supporting a political party, even as a gospel singer
She emphasized that being a political sympathizer does not conflict with her identity as a gospel artist. For her, supporting a political party is a personal choice that should not be condemned.
The ‘Go High’ hitmaker also mentioned her friendship with someone who is a supporter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), demonstrating that political differences do not have to affect personal relationships.
The crooner was quick to add that the word of God, specifically the story of the birth of Jesus Christ is the inspiration behind the song.
