Naira Marley denies Involvement in Mohbad’s death, vows to cooperate with authorities

Nigerian musician Naira Marley has officially denied any involvement in the untimely death of his former signee, Mohbad.
The rising star’s tragic passing has sent shockwaves through the music industry and beyond, prompting a wave of accusations and speculation.
Naira Marley, known for his controversial image has been under intense scrutiny since news of Mohbad’s demise broke. In a heartfelt statement released by the artist, he vehemently refuted any claims that he played a role, directly or indirectly, in the tragic incident. He went on to accuse unknown individuals of attempting to tarnish his reputation and suggested that Mohbad’s death may have been part of a sinister plot to set him up.

The statement begins with Naira Marley expressing his shock and grief over the loss of Mohbad, whom he regarded as a brother and a member of their music family. He extended his condolences to the deceased’s family, hoping they find the strength to bear this irreparable loss.
Naira Marley categorically denied any involvement in Mohbad’s passing, emphasizing that disagreements between them, while not uncommon in the industry, had never escalated to the extent described by some. He stressed that they were in the process of legally resolving their business disputes before the tragedy occurred.
Naira also revealed that he had been out of the country since August 31, 2023, and was making arrangements to return to Nigeria to cooperate fully with the ongoing police investigation. He expressed confidence that the truth surrounding Mohbad’s death would eventually come to light.
Naira Marley clarified that Mohbad had left his label, Marlian Music, in September 2022, and the departure had been accepted without interference in his career. He refuted rumors of his label’s involvement in illegal activities and reiterated his dedication to proving his innocence.
The artist expressed his condolences to Mohbad’s family and urged everyone to focus on supporting the ongoing investigation with accurate information and evidence. He assured that he would cooperate fully with the authorities and that his lawyers were already in contact with law enforcement agencies.
