Breakout Jacksonville rapper Nardo Wick releases his highly-anticipated debut album Who Is Nardo Wick? via Flawless Entertainment/RCA Records. In little over a year, Nardo has earned a Platinum certification for “Who Want Smoke?, debuted at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart, and scored features with Future, Lil Baby, G Herbo, Lil Durk and 21 Savage––and now with the release of Who Is Nardo Wick?
Nardo Wick is seizing his defining moment in undeniable fashion. The 18-track album is a collage of sharp flows, exhilarating instrumentals, and cut-throat lyrics––showing the full depth of Nardo’s cunning artistry.
From start to finish, Who Is Nardo Wick? is a non-stop thrill ride through the mind of Nardo Wick––detailing the vivid imagery and haunting anecdotes of his Jacksonville origins. Outside of the star-studded collaborative singles on the project, Nardo is joined by two of hip-hop’s most exciting stars on the project, 2021 XXL Freshman Lakeyah and Memphis’s own BIG30––with both tracks further highlighting Nardo’s ability to tailor fit his style with any collaborator. “Blam Bloom” is a fiery track that shows Nardo flowing ferociously over pristine production courtesy of the producer FOREVEROLLING.
The impressive producer credits don’t stop there, with Grammy-winning super-producer Hit-Boy curating the instrumental behind the gripping track “Power”, Murda Beatzproducing “Poppin Out (feat. BIG30)”, & Tay Keith working behind the boards for “Lullaby”. The release of Who Is Nardo Wick? is not only a massive moment for Nardo, but Jacksonville as a whole––with both him and the city reaching new heights that will redefine hip-hop in the region forever. Nardo Wick bursted onto the scene in mid-2020 with a string of releases, including “Lolli”, “Slide”, and “Came Up.” Music gave the shy teen an outlet to channel his angst and was accompanied by a fast-following. Though he’s soft-spoken off the mic, when Nardo enters the booth, the raps he produces are dynamic and haunting––a reflection of Jacksonville’s turbulent hip-hop scene. Hit-producer Cardo Got Wings laced Nardo for a last-minute request to appear on February’s Judas And The Black Messiah: The Inspired Album. That album topped the charts upon release, putting Nardo Wickalongside the biggest stars of Hip-Hop and R&B In 2021, Wick transitioned from making buzzing records to inescapable anthems. “Who Want Smoke?” became a widespread hit, with the track eventually earning a Platinum certification. The song reflected a menacing teen with a no-nonsense approach to life and music balancing between being captivating and fearsome. Wick followed this with the Nick Mira-produced “Pull Up” in July. In August, Nardo released “I Be Chillin”, an exciting addition to his growing discography. Then in October, after “Who Want Smoke?” initial explosion, Nardo delivered a new rendition of “Who Want Smoke??” featuring hip-hop’s Avengers: Lil Durk, 21 Savage and G Herbo. Not only did Nardo add that star-studded lineup to the hit, but the music video was handled by none other than Cole Bennett and Lyrical Lemonade. Between the remarkable features and cinematic visuals, Nardo set himself up for a certifiable hit––debuting at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100. His most recent single Me or Sum (feat. Future & Lil Baby) is a lavish offering from Nardo and 2 of Atlanta’s biggest icons, and yet another example of his knack for collaboration at the highest level.

Nardo Wick, whose name comes from his childhood nickname of “Lil’ Nard” and a shortened version of the word “Wicked,” first started rapping at age 17. Nardo’s father became an instant-believer upon hearing his sons’s music and soon after put together a studio for him to record in their home. Nardo used the studio his dad built and taught himself how to produce music by watching instructional videos on YouTube. By 18, Nardo was confident enough to start uploading tracks to Soundcloud, where he gained initial attention from cuts like “Lolli”, “Came Up”, and “Slide.”
Nardo’s deep and dark vocals accent every track he touches, reminiscent of the early years of some of his biggest inspirations like Lil Wayne, Future, and Gucci Mane. By the time he released “Who Want Smoke?” it was game on, as the world took notice in record time. It all started in November 2020, when Nardo posted a frightening woman on his Instagram page in a ski mask brandishing weapons to a snippet of the song. The clip went viral, which set the stage for the track’s full release. Since “Who Want Smoke?” officially dropped at the start of 2021, the song has climbed to over 24 million streams on YouTube alone, and 60 million across streaming platforms. Following up the meteoric rise of “Who Want Smoke?”, Nardo’s released a slew of successful tracks, including “Shhh”, “Pull Up” and “I Be Chillin”. As if these contributions weren’t enough to feed his loyal fanbase, so Nardo’s also supplied memorable features on Rylo Rodriguez’s track “Murder” and 42 Dugg’s track “Opp Pack”. Artists including Lil Durk, Lil Baby, Future, Coi Leray and G Herbo have publicly praised Nardo for his ingenuity and authenticity. Then some of Nardo’s idols, like Lil Durk, 21 Savage & G Herbo, shared he same stage with him for the new version of “Who Want Smoke??”, a testament to the faith this generation of superstars have in Nardo. The song exploded on social media, racking up over 130 million streams across platforms, including 51 million views on the Cole Bennett directed music video, and scoring Nardo a #17 debut on the Billboard Hot 100.

Caly Grande Releases His First Single of the Year ‘Racks and Paces’
Talented Ghanaian musician, Caly Grande has today officially out-doored his newest song, “Racks and Paces.”
The latest single is an infusion of Reggae and Hip-Hop that sees Caly Grande touch on key subjects such as freedom, self-awareness, as well as mental health.
On “Racks and Paces,” Caly Grande with a tone of playfulness and an underlying toughness in his vocals that match both the song’s jumpy rhythm and theme, delivers a superb performance that easily pierces the ears and hearts of listeners.
The 360 musical artiste opens the song with a free flow that sits perfectly on the one-tap Reggae instrumentals and for about a minute chiefly focuses on making the ‘mula’ and a bit of prayer that continues later on the record.
Caly Grande draws parallels between yesteryears and today with a quick flashback of the independence struggle spearheaded by Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. The singer highlights the vast difference in leadership back then and the current state of leadership.
Just like his debut project “Press Play” EP released last year, “Racks and Paces,” is an inspiration, a different vibration that goes against rigid and limiting creative procedures.
The song, according to Caly Grande, was born after hearing another artiste’s song and was inspired to write his unique version that reflects his own reality.
Shedding more light on the motivation for the new record, Caly Grande told Amplify Ghana in an exclusive interview that; he wishes this record puts a smile on listeners and hopefully frees them.
He offered advice about mental health and urged listeners to pay particular attention to the line “in this life you gotta free your mind and do your most best, free the pressure, no more trauma, in this life you do you.”
