British High Commissioner to Ghana, Her Excellency Harriet Thompson has paid a visit to the newly constructed International Central Gospel Church (ICGC).

The new edifice, situated along the Teshie Bush Road was constructed in collaboration by engineers from the United Kingdom and Ghana.

During her visit, Ms Thompson expressed her admiration for the work that has been done so far, and how special it was.

“The engineers are a mix of the UK and Ghana and that’s what’s very special about this partnership. It brings the best of both together and shows what can be done when those things come together,” she told Ameyaw TV in an interview.

She also expressed how important the skills that have been transferred to the Ghanaian engineers by their UK counterparts, will help in the long run.

“A lot of the equipment has come from the UK and a lot of the skills have also come from the UK but during the course of the project, the engineers have been training the local engineers so that they’re then able to use, maintain and repair the equipment and will be able to take those skills on to the next project that they work on here in Ghana,” she added.

Mr Eben Awuah, who is  Head of E.A Audio for the project explained how important it was for them to get it right for the leader of the church, Mr Mensah Otabil.

“When we got this project and knew the calibre of person we were working for, the client, we knew he was a man of high quality and what he represents. We had to give him something that represents him and we looked around and looked for a few designs, few equipment we thought would work and we ended up Martin audio which is the high premium audio-visual speaker system from the UK.

Rappers shy away from collabs because of unnecessary comparisons- Eno Barony

Award-winning Ghanaian rapper, Eno Barony has blamed the lack of rapper-to-rapper collaborations on unnecessary comparisons.

The rapper, who has constantly shown her rapping prowess in a field dominated by men stated in a recent interview that rappers shy away from collaborations with other rappers.

“I’ve not really featured a lot of rappers because a lot of rappers kind of shy away from featuring their co rappers especially me being a girl,” she stated.

According to Eno, singers are able to collaborate freely without any chance of music listeners trying to pick who sang the best, however, same cannot be said for rappers.

“Most at times there is a comparison when it comes to rap but two singers can easily feature themselves on a song without being compared.

“Nobody cares they just jam to it but then when two rappers are on a project people tend to just compare the lyrics and stuff,” she explained.

She continued; “So it’s like you guys putting your lives down you may be slaughtered at any time but this one is a collaboration, not a battle,” Eno Barony told the host.
