New web comedy series, Ama and Chan’s Kitchen Rescues premieres October 17

ama and chan kitchenThis is what happens when a Chinaman and a Ghanaian woman walk into a kitchen!  Sydney’s hilarious and politically incorrect b-grade celebrity chefs, Ama and Chan are releasing a short 6 part cooking web series on YouTube. Ama and Chan’s Kitchen Rescues premieres on 17th October and will be released via the couple’s YouTube channel every Wednesday at 3pm (GMT)  going straight to Facebook and Twitter. Their motivations behind creating the show are altruistic; answers peoples’ most frequently asked cooking questions with tips on how to avoid culinary disasters and consequently dodging social faux pas, Ama and Chan style. “Some people don’t even know how to cook rice, how stupid is that?! If I see one more white person cook rice on stove top, I going to scream!” says Chan. The cultural dynamic duo are starving to be famous, hungry to recognized as Australian cooking icons and inject some ‘culture’ into Australian TV. Deemed ‘inappropriate’ by the producers of ‘Ready, Steady, Cook;’ Ama and Chan’s Kitchen Rescue is the show Australia deserves. The comedy is fast, sharp and borderline offensive. “There are so many cheap people in Australia oh, that is exactly why we made the show free to view” says Ama. The series is co-produced by innovative media arts companies CuriousWorks and Matta Media and is the brainchild of Alan Lao (Chan) and Effie Nkrumah (Ama). Subscribe to the show’s YouTube channel or connect via the couple’s social media channels to stay up to date with new episodes.
