Nima Muhinmanchi Art festivals set for July 7

Nima Muhinmanchi Art announces NMA 2012, an all day Art Festival at Kaokudi Park, Nima on Saturday, July 7, 2012, from 12-8 pm (Free); and an Art Exhibition & Concert at the Alliance Française, Airport Area on Thursday, July 12 at 6:30 pm. Artists such as Friction, D-Flex, Jayso, Faint Medal, Reggie Rockstone, Larry Otoo, Wiz Kudowor, Paa Joe, and Constance Swaniker will be joining underground artists and the youth of Nima in a fabulous arts festival that celebrates the creative talent of Accra. Enjoy live painting and music, t-shirt screening, motobike tricks, talent shows, and the tunes of DJ Perfekt at the Kaokudi Park Festival; and a banging exhibition, music show, and silent auction with unbeatable prizes at the Alliance Française Exhibition & Concert. The events are a culmination of this term’s NMA art workshops, conceived to empower youth in Nima to engage in the arts creatively, educationally, and vocationally. The program equips urban youth with the skills, potential, and confidence to express themselves through art. NMA provides an alternative learning platform where free self-expression is promoted and imagination is encouraged. After a highly successful inaugural event last July 2011 at Nima 441, NMA boasts the sponsorship of rlg Communications Ghana Ltd., Orel Ghana, Empire Records, and Unique Xpressions, and the support of Accra[dot]Alt, the Foundation for Contemporary Art Ghana, Skillions Records, Pidgin Music, Boogie Down Nima Productions, Joy FM,and many of the top artists in Ghana. NMA invites the Accra community to attend the July 7 festival and July 12 exhibition and concert. Share in the creative talent of Nima, support our city’s budding young artists, and get a piece of art for your own.]]>
