Ghanaian Actress, Efia Odo has revealed that she’s willing to participate in the #FixTheCountry campaign again, but this time, in a different route.

The actress was among the popular faces who amplified the #FixTheCountry campaign/protest with her voice and platform.

However, Efia Odo withdrew from the protest in a shocking turn of events after receiving various death threats on social media.

In a new interview with Zeinat on Ameyaw TV, Efia disclosed that the  threats became to serious and pleas from her mother to quit forced her to step down.

‘‘The ‘fix the country’ thing, obviously it was something I embarked on with Kalyjay and the other people because at the end of the day I have a lot of compassion for Ghanaians, like I see how people are suffering each and every day, we all complain everyday about certain things that is going on in this country so why not use my  platform and you know talk about it, but it got too extreme, it got too political and I didn’t want to go that direction to the point where I started getting attacked , verbally and people calling me, my number was leaked on the internet, people were calling me and giving me threats, my mom was so afraid for my life she wanted me to come back to New York just so I can be safe because she felt like something could have happened to me and you know Africa politics is not as democratic as in the US,’’ she stated.

Although she stepped away from the protest, Efia says she’s willing to rejoin in the future, however in a different capacity.

The actress, who is now focused on a musical journey revealed that she plans to use her ‘‘Odo nti foundation’’ to fix the country in the coming years.

‘‘So, now I’d rather use my NGO to fix the country. So, if there are things that I can do as in providing water to rural communities, tables, chairs, hospital beds, whatever it is I can do to help fix the country, I will, but now attacking the government and stuff, naa. I mean I will still speak my mind on twitter and the direction that we took with ‘fix the country’ I don’t think I will do it again because it got too extreme, ‘’she further expressed.

Efia Odo also made it clear that in the nearby future she will help the people of the nation and be able to contribute to its growth through her ‘‘Odo Nti foundation and other big projects.

‘‘So ‘Odo Nti Foundation’ is an NGO that I’ve had for few years now where we provide solutions to societal needs whether its kids who need laptops, whether it is certain schools who don’t even have…I don’t have funds to do big projects but in the future I do want to do big projects like building schools, hospitals and even psychiatric facilities and what not so this year I actually want to do a fund raiser which will also go into the foundation and also help with the societal needs,” she disclosed,.
