Ohemaa Mercy Details KOKA’s Arrest, Reveals Life Threats
Ghanaian gospel artist Ohemaa Mercy has issued a statement to clarify the recent arrest of Kwaku Osei Krankye Asiedu, othewise known as KOKA.
The statement, posted on social media, provides insight into the circumstances surrounding the arrest and addresses misinformation about the case.
According to the statement, the arrest followed reports made by Ohemaa Mercy and her legal team about threats made against her life by KOKA. However, specific details regarding the nature of these threats were not disclosed.
“Team Ohemaa Mercy would like to address the events of yesterday and provide clarity on the circumstances surrounding the arrest of Kwaku Osei Krankye Asiedu (KOKA). The team and its lawyers take full responsibility for reporting the threats made against the life of the artiste Ohemaa Mercy, which led to the arrest,” the statement read.

The statement also sought to dispel rumors implicating Becky of JoyNews in the arrest. The team emphatically denied any involvement by Becky, stating, “We want to categorically state that Becky of JoyNews had no involvement whatsoever in this matter, nor was she responsible for the arrest of KOKA, as some have speculated. We extend our sincerest apologies to Becky for being unfairly drawn into this situation.”
The team further assured the public that they would provide further updates as needed and emphasized their commitment to transparency throughout the unfolding situation.
This comes after a series of social media posts in which KOKA had publicly accused Ohemaa Mercy of being a “fake woman of God.” The singer and her team felt compelled to take action after these accusations escalated into threats.
