okyeame Kwame plays seun bakaGhanaian rap superstar, Okyeame Kwame will soon show his fans another side of him as he features in Leila Djansi’s upcoming film, ‘Ties That Bind’ in the most unfamiliar fashion.  Although the rapper may not be entirely new to acting, his role as a standup comedian would surprise many, especially since he wasn’t scripted and had to generate the jokes by himself.

Okyeame Kwame, plays the role of Seun Baka, an established comic who comes to town for a one-night-only of fun and humour.  According to director Leila Djansi, she was very impressed because Okyeame was actually funny. The extras for the comedy show scene, didn’t have to fake the laughter much as most of them also gave a similar account. So is there a job on the cards for Ghana’s Rap Doctor?

‘Ties That Bind’ is a feature length movie about Adobea, Buki and Theresa,  three women from different walks of life bound together by a similar pain; the loss of a child. In a destined meeting in a small village in Kroboland, the women journey together to redemption, love, life and forgiveness as they renovate a dilapidated clinic for the villagers. It stars Kimberly Elise, Randall Batinkoff, Ama K Abebrese, Omotola Ekeinde, David Dontoh, John Dumelo, Ebbe Bassey and others.
