OPINION: Happiness is a choice; This is Why Soorebia is the 3 Music Next Rated Artiste for 2020

Published

on

Soorebia Happiness 1

I am very opinionated, and I listen broadly, very few can be compared to Soorebia when it comes to talent, humility and the desire to win. Happiness is indeed from within.

Before Soorebia’s HAPPINESS

Soorebia was nominated in 3 Music’s Next Rated Category for 2020; his contenders weren’t mere contemporaries but acts who have proven to be worthy of a front-row seat in Ghana music. However, his nomination received mixed reactions from fans and the general music-loving populace of mainly the Upper East Region. Whilst others viewed it from a-good-step perspective, another set of people saw it as demeaning. Reasons being simple, Soorebia is bigger than the category. Whilst I cannot tell people how to view things, I can only provide a context for which his nomination could be viewed. Music is business, successful businesses must exude growth, being dominant in one’s comfort zone is alright; however, worth and wealth must transcend the comfort. We must chart a path to the HAPPINESS we desire.

Soorebia stood tall at the end of the day, winning against stiff competitors; Keeny Ice, WizChild, Imrana, Koo Kyei, Postaboy, Kwaku Smoke, Ypee, Nemesis Loso, & Wiz Maleek.

Finding Soorebia’s Happiness

Life is a plethora of choices, so acknowledging a disadvantage and taking an action, is you being proactive in your quest to succeed. Soorebia is a go-getting-enigma, and has earned himself relevance on the Upper East music scene as a rapper, wowed audiences in the Northern Region with creative and impressive rap flow, invaded his playmates in the Upper West Region with beautiful rhythmic music, and left the general Ghanaian music lover in awe. However, his dominance is yet to be sealed.

Just as ingenuity is not the preserve of people located in a particular part of Ghana, the fortunes generated from music shouldn’t also. This is where Soorebia’s team deserve some accolades; from Bolga to Tamale, Soorebia is known for his impressive skills on the microphone. Southwards, towards the economic power-house of Ghana’s music, he’s relatively unknown. Many advance arguments seeking to downplay the importance of successes that antecede a breakthrough in Accra. However, in a very polarized society such as ours, talking economics can be challenged by a people already suffering some form of a complex.

(I will find time to write about the successes of Fancy Gadam & Maccasio, with the above as context.)

You see, Nigeria probably has the biggest music industry in Africa, however, the likes of Wizkid, Davido, Tiwa Savage, Simi, Burna Boy, Makoryun, Korede Bello, Mr. Eazi, and several others haven’t stayed simply contented with the fortunes available to them in Nigeria. They have found ways to chart courses to more financially lucrative music industries; the situation has made them some of the biggest and richest musicians in the world.

It is therefore commendable that a very talented artiste like Soorebia knows his worth, and wants to fully exploit it to the maximum. The exposure associated with this award, the new connections struck, and the Nasco 65 Curved TV is revealing of what one can achieve if they take opportunities.

Despite dabbling in music for some time now, his prominence dawned when he featured Upper East’s seductive songstress Ayillah on Primus. Arguably Soorebia’s biggest impression, Primus served as the basis for features with artistes like Wanluv, a lover of true art. One would have expected a sudden burst from Soorebia, however, the hurdles must always be overcome to become a big artiste in Ghana. It will therefore take more than a beautiful song and a collaboration with Wanluv to breakthrough. Remember, the Ghana music scene is not for the sleepy-faint-hearted, but those willing to put in work, funding and consistency.

Who is Soorebia

Soorebia is a young man who has chosen to find happiness unfettered by his geographical location. His ingenuity stems from pursuing an innate crave for mastership as a wordsmith; whose success hinges on amazing lyrics over feet-thumping beats. Considering a relatively low appreciation of Art and a relationship with formal education; Soorebia has left no stones unturned in ensuring he stands at par with ingenious artistes who can equally rival folk with academics. His relevance and dominance as an artiste in the Upper East cannot be understated.

The son of Soore obviously has a vision & a mission, this definitely must have influenced the choice to take whatever would push him a notch higher in his chosen career.

Next time you choose to attack a go-getter from an inferiority complex, know that
Martin Soore the son of Soore didn’t attend the university & explore his talent for nought. Yes, Soorebia is definitely made to shine.

Soorebia is from the Upper East Region of Ghana.

We'll Roast You at NEW Year Comedy Night, Send us to Court - DKB to Kurt Okraku

The annual New Year Comedy Night will kick off the 2023 event calendar in January. To start the new year, the event will return with even funnier and rib-cracking jokes.

Slated for January 2, 2023 at the La Palm Royal Hotel. Ahead of the show, Comedian and Headliner for the event, DKB has sent a message to the Ghana Football Association President; Mr Kurt Okraku.

The comedian won’t hold back when discussing the Ghana Black Stars and their recently concluded World Cup campaign. DKB asserts that he is prepared to appear in court because on January 2nd, he will roast the President, despite the GFA having warned that people would be prosecuted if they disparaged the GFA and The Black Stars.

“We will roast him [Kurt Okraku] come Monday January 2 2023 at the New Year Comedy Night event. On the night we [Comedians] will dive into all that happened in 2022 which fortunately Kurt Okraku and the Black Stars actively participated in.” He said.

“Yes I am aware of the letter that was published by the GFA, but it wouldn’t intimidate us into cowering and not speak about GFA and The Black Stars. We are ready to go to court because we will roast Him [Kurt Okraku].” He added.

There will be great performances by OB Amponsah, Lekzy DeComic, Foster Romanus, Jeneral Ntatia, Parrot Mouth, Putogo, and MjTheComedian with music from Sista Afia and Cina Soul. The show will be hosted by Kejetia Lawyer Nti.

Contact 055 813 4734 for table reservations and more information about the event.

They say I do money laundering - Mercy Eke of BBNaija

Reality Star, Mercy Eke sits with Chude Jideonwo, host of the viral TV show, #WithChude to discuss accusations the media peddle against her and life after Big Brother Naija.

On her choice to respond to the blogger who claimed she slept with IVD, she shared, “This blogger has been on my case since forever. This person has tarnished my image more than anything, and I have never responded. This started when I was in the house. When this whole thing started, I saw that one of my fans released something where this blogger asked for 200,000 naira, and they did not give the person. And the blogger vowed that he or she will deal with me. But now, I am not in the house, you can’t deal with me based on whoever was handling my page. I didn’t even know about it because, they cleaned it up. When they handed over my phone to me, I didn’t see a lot of things, so I couldn’t pay for what I did not know. And since then, I have not rested. There is no story that this blogger has not involved me, till that one, I won’t respond. But this one, someone just died, there is a case of domestic violence, and I know this woman, we are friends. Then something that I know nothing about, you just brought my name out of nowhere and say that I am sleeping with this person”.
“That is the first and last time, I am going to respond to something, but I needed to respond to that one, she added.
Mercy also shared her thoughts about Phyna being the second woman to win the reality TV show.

“Honestly speaking, I have been waiting on someone to take on that role, let that pressure move, I want to rest. I want another person to come and take it, let the blogs focus on this person. Because I know when someone comes, at least I will rest.

She also reacted to the stigma successful women have to deal with, “It is very offensive. I feel that it is taking away all the efforts, the sleepless night, all the hard work we women put to get together where we are. They will just take away all effort and tag it as someone is behind you. I am not saying it is bad to have someone behind, if you have a rich boyfriend, some people’s love language might be taking care of you, buying you nice things, and giving you money. However, you will still work hard. They said I do money laundering; they have dealt with me in this industry. I came into this industry without no advice, just myself and my team and I started building brand.

On her motivation to be in the Big Brother house, she shared, “I auditioned four times. I just have that voice in me that says, ‘this is where you will make it’. So, each year when they say, ‘‘try again next year’. I still have that thing in my head that, ‘Okay, I will try’. Back then it was just to be famous”.
