Ghanaian rapper, Tic formerly Tic Tac has said that the Ghana Music Industry is a “one man chop” affair.
According to the “Kwani Kwani” hit maker, this “one man chop” attitude is the reason why some artistes are able to dominate the industry for a very long time.
Speaking to Citi TV‘s AJ Sarpong on Hall of Fame, Tic insinuated that some of the musicians in Ghana are selfish.
“In Ghana when you do something and someone wants to promote it, hates sets it. Why? Even if the person will come spice the show-up, they won’t bring them because everybody wants to chop alone. That is the problem in our music industry. One man chop. Simple”, he said.
Tic also questioned why very few artistes are always billed to perform at every show when there are a lot of them in the market.
“How can we have in a whole year, only three artistes doing shows when the whole nation has 100 artistes?” he asked.
Tic also believes that “we create” the demand hence the question of whether these few artistes are being booked for shows to satisfy the demand and supply theory is false.
Tic was out of the music scene for a while before returning in 2018 with hit songs ‘Pene Ma Me’ and ‘Kwani Kwani Part 2’, all featuring Kuami Eugene.
