Pastors’ Prayers Won’t Secure Mahama’s Presidency – Prince David Osei

Award-winning Ghanaian actor and New Patriotic Party (NPP) supporter Prince David Osei, has sparked conversation on social media, expressing his belief that former President John Dramani Mahama’s return to power is unlikely.

In a recent Twitter post sighted by Ameyaw Debrah Media, the renowned thespian dismissed the possibility of John Mahama winning the presidency, even with endorsements from well-known pastors across the country.

According to him, spiritual backing won’t change the outcome of the upcoming election for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer.

“Even if all the pastors were to pray and anoint Ex-President Mahama, he would not regain the presidency,” he shared in his tweet.

The actor went on to address accusations aimed at the NPP regarding their involvement in illegal mining, or galamsey, which has been a major concern in Ghana. He argued that this issue is not limited to one political party, pointing out that both NPP and NDC members, along with influential figures, have been linked to the illegal activity.

“The ongoing propaganda tactics against the NPP, including accusations of involvement in illegal mining, will not succeed,” he wrote.

He stressed that the fight against galamsey is complex and cannot be attributed solely to the ruling government.

Prince also emphasized that galamsey has been a longstanding problem in Ghana, one deeply rooted in political influence. He noted that powerful individuals from various sectors, including chiefs, politicians, and business elites, play a significant role in the continuation of illegal mining activities, making it difficult to enforce laws.

“The issue of illegal mining involves individuals from both NDC and NPP, politicians, pastors, and the public. Some of us are not mere observers; our prayers are impactful,” Osei added.
