The US premiering of the award-winning war movie, ‘Somewhere is Africa’ made a fantastic stop in Atlanta, where adoring fans of actor, Majid Michel stormed the venue to not only see the movie but also have an opportunity to meet and interact with the movie star.
The atmosphere was electric as the crowd waited in anticipation for their star to arrive in a lobby reflecting the jungles of Africa. With 18×10 feet wall banners, 100 feet red carpet, dead body props on the floors to honour innocent victims of war, a concession stand with spicy Suya and wings, it was truly a classic experience. Majid arrived in a black limousine and met the applause of an adoring crowd on the red carpet, shook hands, and occasionally signed autographs.
“We did it big in Hollywood, but we decided to raise the bar in Atlanta, the new Mecca of the film industry and to set the standard for our own industry as well,” says Reggie Erawoc of Zebrachild Entertainment, the organizers of the US premieres.
The premiere was a major success with a full house, an after party and an African dance with army costumes and a song from the original movie soundtrack. Majid was also awarded and crowned for his role in the advancement of African Films. It was a spectacular presentation produced by Reggie and Sputnic Erawoc of Zebrachild Entertainment/Erawoc Bros Group, Clarice Kulah, Lydia Worjlor of Divine Entertainment, and Phillip Dowetin of The Calabash.
Sputnic says ” We have indeed set the bar high for others to follow but will definitely keep the bar higher if any film producer/director or distributor is interested in such services”.
Majid Michel’s USA tour follows through to Minnesota on Saturday, October 29 followed by two events in Italy in mid November and ends in Ghana by November 26th. Some dates are subject to change.
