Viasat 1 has rolled out Season 2 of its hit talk show, The One Show with new and exciting additions. The new season debuted on Monday with the introduction of a new co-host, PY Addo Boateng, a familiar face in broadcasting, events and music. He was interviewed by regular host, Joselyn Dumas as a way to introduce him to viewers and in a later segment, PY went out to an Italian Chef to learn how to make an Italian specialty pizza.

Season 1 of the One Show, Produced by Anita Erskine saw tremendous patronage since its premiere on August 2 last year, with research showing it has impressive audience shares. During its first season, the One Show hosted personalities from different facets of society including award winning film maker Shirley Frimpong Manso, King of Ghana comedy Kwaku Sintim- Missah, Politician Kofi ‘Chuck’ Wayo, Allure C.E.O Dzigbordi Dorso, Activist Ursula Owusu, to mention a few. Issues broached included sexual orientations, homophobia, child rights, health care, family and labor rights in addition to hosting some of Ghana’s best entertainers such as multi-award winning Samini, Asem, Richie, Celestine Donkor, Veteran broadcaster Tommy Annan- Forson, Ben Brako and many more.

 

CEO of Viasat Rune Skogeng has expressed immense satisfaction with the outcome of the program. He said, “The one show has proved to be a fantastic benchmark in Television talk shows in Ghana”. He added that he is proud of the production team’s achievements and is even more hopeful that the next season will indeed take the country by storm with bigger and better content for viewing pleasure.

Host of the one show Joselyn Dumas believes season 2 will not only surpass expectation but will also cause impact like a Ghanaian talk show has never done before. In the season 2, The One Show is expected to pull more viewers from a larger demographic. Producers of the show firmly believe certain additions and reorientations made to the show will definitely draw an increased audience share in comparison to the previous season. Head of Own Productions, Ama K. Abebrese said, “The basic tenets of the show will not change however new dynamics have been included to make the show even more appealing and more exciting”.

 

Viasat 1 is also set to treat its viewers to new seasons of other shows including Laugh a Minute, CSI: Miami and a new Latin American Telenovela before the quarter comes to a close. Head of Own Productions Ama Konadu Abebrese has assured a revamp of Laugh a Minute program to better suit Ghanaian tastes.

The One Show airs Mondays – Fridays at 6:30pm on Viasat 1.
