Radio host, Nockuss (Soulman) to celebrate birthday by running for charity!

Published

soulmanWith a few days to his birthday, radio and TV personality, actor and Ghana’s rep on Mnet’s Survivor Africa (Panama), Nana Kwame Osei Sarpong (alias Nockuss or SoulMan) is turning an idea that started on air into a reality. The YFM presenter was born at the 37 Military Hospital on February 21, 1976 and he will be returning to the hospital at age 37 with a unique birthday celebration dubbed ‘SoulRun’.  He will run from the 37 Military Hospital through to the N1 motorway and make his way to the Tetteh Quarshie interchange and right back to the Hospital.

He will then make a donation to the hospital with the help of sponsors of the ‘SoulRun’. He said, “Proceeds will go to fund a wish list I received from the Children’s Ward, as well as pay for National Health Insurance for all babies born that day, this year and every year after.” According to Nana Kwame, the aim of the exercise is to highlight the need to do more for one another and especially the to cherish children, as they are the future. “I wish I’m able to put a smile on the face of a newly born, with the assurance that the first year of his or her life is covered. I know that is too much to ask for but I also hope it gives parents of these kids a year to sort themselves out and make sure they get insurance for their babies and take it on from there”. “So far, I am getting overwhelming support, and hopefully sponsorship from everyone that hears about it. Many people have expressed interest in running with me but unfortunately we all can’t run on a Thursday morning, plus it will be a traffic mess. I am ready to take the strain for us all.  But there will many ways in which well meaning people can contribute,” he added. He concludes, “This seems to be an idea with the right timing and I am really excited by it. It is quite amazing just how much support I’m already getting especially morale-wise, I guess we are the only ones who can save our own souls. I feel really good about this project and the higher lies beyond.”]]>
