Ras Caleb promises one-region one-band If elected MUSIGA president

Aspiring Musicians Union of Ghana president, Ras Caleb Appiah has promised to set up a music band for every region if elected as president in the upcoming MUSIGA elections.

According to him, the bands will serve all artistes in all sixteen regions in the country. and They will be paid by MUSIGA.

“If artistes set their own band, they’re going to take care of every fee of each person, so, the artiste cannot concentrate on his work as an artiste but if we have the regional bands which the members are being taken care of, they [band members] won’t ask you, the artiste, for anything because they’re there for a job”.  Ras Caleb said in an interview on Radio Waa in the Upper West Region on Monday, 27 May 2019.

Ras Caleb who’s currently the Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA), will be competing against veteran highlife singer Bessa Simons for the MUSIGA Presidency.
