Rejected But Persisted; Davido Recounts How His Wife, Chioma Initially Rejected His Romantic Advances

Popular Nigerian musician Davido, has recently opened up about his relationship with his wife, Chioma Rowland.

The couple have been in the spotlight for the past few years, capturing the attention and admiration of fans across the globe.

According to Davido, their love story did not start off on the smoothest note as Chioma initially turned down his romantic advances towards her.

In a candid chat with vlogger Tayo Aina, Davido revealed that he first met Chioma while they were both studying at Babcock University in Osun State.

The “Unavailable” hitmaker reveals it was love at first sight, adding that immediately he set his eyes on Chioma, he asked one of his aides to call her for him but Chioma declined.

“I was in a Prado, and I looked behind and I saw this girl walking. Just there with her bag, it was Chioma. I told Lati omo, I like that girl, go and call that girl for me. He called her but she did not answer me at the time.”

Davido, however, noted that Chioma later came to Lagos and they linked up.

After a bumpy few years of their relationship, Davido and Chioma finally tied the knot shortly after the death of their son, Ifeanyi who drowned in a swimming pool at the singer’s Banana Island mansion on October 31, 2022.
