Rihanna is officially a billionaire and the ‘richest female musician’ in the world

Rihanna has reached billionaire status, Forbes announced in a new report on Wednesday.

With an estimated net worth of $1.7 billion, the business magazine has dubbed the “Diamonds” singer, 33, the “richest female musician” and second to Oprah Winfrey as the “richest female entertainer.”

However, despite a bevy of chart-topping hits, Forbes credits the bulk of Rihanna’s fortune to her Fenty Beauty business.

The Barbados-born businesswoman owns 50 percent stake in her company. French luxury goods conglomerate LVMH owns the other half.

Rihanna’s lingerie company, Savage x Fenty, is also worth an estimated $270 million.

Shannon Coyne, co-founder of consumer products consultancy Bluestock Advisors, told Forbes that Rihanna’s focus on inclusivity throughout all of her brands has made them such a success.

“A lot of women felt there were no lines out there that catered to their skin tone. It was light, medium, medium dark, dark,” she said. “We all know that’s not reality.”

“[Rihanna] was one of the first brands that came out and said, ‘I want to speak to all of those different people.’”

The superstar singer has not publicly commented on her new billionaire status yet. A rep for RiRi could not immediately be reached for comment.

At her 2020 Savage x Fenty fashion show, Rihanna explained how inclusivity came naturally to her when building her brand.

“Inclusivity for me has always been something second nature, it’s not really anything to think about,” she said. “I didn’t think it would be such a talking point after the fact.”

Rihanna added, “When I imagine something, I imagine everyone that I know and love being a part of it. I want to make stuff that I can see on the people that I know and they come in all different shapes, sizes, races, religions.”

Today, HARD Events has announced the grand return of HARD Summer Music Festival to the City of Angels for the first time in ten years. Taking place in Downtown Los Angeles from August 5th-6th, the milestone fifteenth edition of HARD Summer will utilize a brand new venue combination with various stages spread out across the campuses of the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Exposition Park, and BMO Stadium.

Since its debut edition in 2008, HARD Summer has become a staple of the Southern California festival scene with its return to LA showcasing the evolution of the festival in an entirely new setting. As a part of the iconic LA Coliseum’s centennial anniversary celebration, the 2023 edition will provide attendees with a brand new take on the multi-genre HARD Summer experience.

“We are thrilled to host HARD Summer’s return to Los Angeles as part of our centennial anniversary celebration,” said Joe Furin, General Manager of the LA Coliseum. “As home to the most iconic events in the world, this festival is an exciting addition to our 100-year history.”

HSMF’s new home will offer a fully immersive footprint for fans of many genres and styles to explore. Admirers of dance music’s biggest mainstage acts can hold it down at the HARD Stage at the Green Lot on the south side of BMO Stadium, while followers of more esoteric strains of house and techno can see their favorite global icons on the Pink Stage at Christmas Tree Lane Park. Multi-genre curation will triumph on the HARDER Stage on the South Lawn, where mind-blowing headlining performances from the industry’s foremost titans have become commonplace. Bass music devotées can ride the rail at the festival’s Green Stage inside the LA Memorial Coliseum, while a spotlight will continue to be shined on live acts and new subgenres du jour at the Purple Stage inside BMO stadium.

HARD Summer continues to invest in creating a comfortable experience for attendees, with this never-before-used venue complex providing the perfect canvas to expand this mission. Fans can hop on the LA Metro for an easy journey to and from the event, or taste some of the city’s most celebrated food vendors at the foot of the Coliseum Torch.

HARD Summer will also be hosting a series of official afterparties at premiere venues around Los Angeles, offering a true city-side takeover. More afterparty details will be announced closer to the festival.

Two-day festival passes will be available for purchase on February 3rd at 10am PT through the official website for HARD Summer. To celebrate the festival’s return to the 213 area code, fans can also secure passes with a $2.13 deposit on February 3rd for one day only.

Side Door Hosting Annual Band Showcase and “How To Tour Without Going Broke” Panel at SXSW 2023

sxsw announces a bazillion showcasing artists for 2022 festival scaled 1
Side Door, the platform giving agency to artists and turning any space into a music venue, announces its panel for South By Southwest 2023 called ‘How To Tour Without Going Broke’ and artist showcase for the second year in a row. The panel will be composed of four music industry professionals: Andrew Leib, artist manager at Red Light Management, Dan Mangan, artist and co-founder of Side Door, Brighid Fry of Housewife, and Tour Manager Abbey Simmons.
I am incredibly passionate about educating up-and-comers and nerding out over tips and tricks for the industry. Thrilled to speak alongside the Side Door team and back everything they stand for,” says Andrew Leib.
The panelists will explore how to rethink touring in 2023 following Side Door’s SXSW 2022 panel about how to tour alternative venue spaces. The panel will be held in Austin Convention Center Room 17AB, March 16th at 11:30 AM local time. It is a part of the SXSW music and tech career track, held March 13th through the 17th.
Brighid Fry of Housewife says, “As a young and emerging artist who saw live shows grind to a halt during COVID, it is scary to be stepping into this career at a time where the costs of touring are spiraling out of control and when there is so much uncertainty. As a climate activist, I want to be able to work on cutting down the carbon footprint of my tours, but it is increasingly hard for us emerging artists to do so when we have to work so hard just to make sure we don’t lose money on touring.”
In addition to the SXSW panel discussion, Side Door will also be holding a showcase with multiple bands that are touring on their way to Austin. The bands are posting Show Calls on the Side Door platform, a way to engage new venues with their expected tour dates. Interested hosts can visit the site to see what cities artists are currently planning to perform in.
The showcase will consist of performances from artists who participated in the On the Road with Side Door Touring Program. The Program offers a $500 USD guarantee for artists playing Side Door shows between January and March 2023 on the road to
SXSW. poolblood, recently picked as NPR’s release of the week, is using Side Door’s platform to tour their debut album on the journey to Austin. They are currently looking for hosts in Detroit, Dallas, and Kansas City. Anyone interested in hosting poolblood or other artists on their journey to SXSW can check out Side Door for more information.
It’s been really cool booking and looking for shows through Side Door…Touring has become quite hard for many artists because of how expensive it is…so it’s awesome that Side Door helps artists!” says poolblood.
