Sarkodie sets the records straight on Ghana Music Awards nominations

Sarkodie’s management team isn’t too surprised their artiste was snubbed by Ghana Music Awards nominations board. This was made known by the Business Development Manager Sammy Forson in an interview with Kojo Akoto Boateng of Ultimate Radio in Kumasi. “Um well um First of all, I should say that I wasn’t surprised … I wasn’t expecting it because we did not submit any material for nomination this year,” Forson said. “Reason being that looking at the year  under review well  we did not release any material that we think merits a nomination and we also spent more time focusing on the promotion of the  Rapperholic album which already has been nominated the previous  Ghana Music Awards. “So automatically the album is not in contention  because it has been nominated… the same album was nominated for the album of the year and all that so even though we were promoting other songs on the album it’s more like we were focusing on letting the album mature and for it to live its shelf live,” he added. Sarkodie’s nominations in some categories were as a result of his collaborative effort with producer Jayso on their joint upcoming album The Mind Game (TMG).]]>
