Kenyan boyband, Sauti Sol has announced that they will be taking an indefinite break from working as a group.

The announcement comes ahead of their scheduled performance at the Stanbic Yetu Festival in Nairobi on June 10, which will be their second last show in Kenya, as a group.

Their final show in the country will be at the third annual Sol festival in December.

In a statement on Saturday, the band said this will start after the scheduled world tour that will see them perform in various countries across Europe and America.

“The upcoming tour across the US, Europe, and Canada is a chance for fans to immerse themselves in the magic of Sauti Sol one last time before the band takes a break from group projects for a while.

Each performance will be infused with a sense of deep love and gratitude as the ensemble delivers their timeless hits and fan favourites that have left an indelible mark on our collective memories,” they said.
“While the indefinite hiatus marks the end of a specific chapter, it also represents a new beginning for Sauti Sol.”

The band insisted that their friendship and shared vision continue to be the driving force behind their future projects.

They said that the over 20 years they have been together have been a great journey for them both as artists and friends.

“We are filled with gratitude for the love and support we have received throughout the years. While we take this hiatus to pursue our individual and collective passions, we remain committed to our friendship and our shared businesses. The bond between us is unbreakable and we are excited for what the future holds.”
